Charlie’s business journey began at sixteen, in the aisles of a camera store where film still reigned and the weight of a well-built lens felt like holding a secret in your hands. But as all great stories demand, he left—first to UC Davis, where he earned his BA in Economics, then into the winding roads of the rental car and pharmaceutical industries. It was a practical path, a steady one. And yet, some roads do not end—they loop back, waiting for the traveler to return.
In 2010, he did just that. A year later, he didn’t just return to Action Camera—he claimed it, taking the helm and steering it into a new era. Expansion followed, not once but twice. In 2017, he planted new roots in Reno, NV, bringing Action Camera to the Biggest Little City. And in 2024, after years of growth, he moved the original store from its Roseville location into a much larger space in Rocklin, creating a home for an ever-growing community of photographers. Through changing technology, shifting markets, and the ever-evolving demands of the digital age, Charlie ensured that Action Camera didn’t just survive—it thrived.
But Charlie is more than a businessman. He is a builder—not only of stores, but of communities, of opportunities, of creative legacies. He thrives in helping others bring their photographic visions to life, in crafting a place where passion meets possibility, where customers and employees alike can grow.
Once, in a time before endless responsibilities, Charlie had free hours to call his own. He spent them watching sports, traveling to places unknown, and capturing the world through his own lens. Those days are fewer now, but the love of adventure, of discovery, of seeing something extraordinary and framing it just right—it remains. Because at his core, Charlie knows that photography is not just about light and shadow. It’s about vision. And that, above all else, is what he has built.

For Melinda, photography was always there—woven into childhood dreams, stitched into the fabric of her curiosity. She saw the world not just as it was, but as it could be, waiting to be captured in perfect harmony. Light and shadow, earth and sky, the fleeting glow of sunrise over a quiet landscape—these were the moments that called to her, even before she knew the power of holding a camera in her hands.
She followed that calling to the Academy of Art University, where she earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts, refining her craft, learning the delicate balance of artistry and precision. But classrooms could only teach so much. The real lessons lay beyond—on winding roads, in open fields, beneath vast skies that stretched toward forever. Travel became more than a passion; it became a necessity, each new place another brushstroke in the ever-growing masterpiece of her experience.
In 2012, she found a home at Action Camera, where she has spent years helping others navigate their own photographic journeys. She shares her knowledge freely, guiding customers and staff through the labyrinth of gear and technique, ensuring that they, too, can capture the world as they see it. Melinda guarantees the success of both stores as a whole, acting as the glue that holds this whole operation together. But above all, she fights a quiet battle against a great and terrible foe—photos that are too blue. A pet peeve? Perhaps. A mission? Most certainly.
Melinda is more than a photographer. She is a seeker of beauty, a traveler of landscapes both real and imagined, a guardian of color and composition. And wherever the road takes her next, one thing is certain—the light will be just right.

Some rule with an iron fist, others with quiet authority. Katie? She rules with laughter. If the Reno store hums along smoothly, it is because she wills it so—working from behind the curtain, unseen but indispensable. Should you need her, simply follow the sound of mischief and mirth, and you will find her at the center of it all.
Her journey began in the halls of the University of Michigan, but the call of adventure was too strong to ignore. Westward she went, trading Midwest winters for Nevada’s wild landscapes, where the mountains stretch high and the desert holds its secrets close. Here, she found her rhythm—hiking through untamed trails, camera in hand, capturing the quiet beauty of a world too vast to tame.
She is a writer, a reader, a traveler with a heart full of stories yet to be told. She finds solace in pages, in winding roads, in a well-poured glass of wine. And, of course, in the company of cats—creatures that, much like Katie herself, demand the world be on their terms.

You may have heard of Chris Wright. Perhaps in passing-a name murmured in the aisles of Action Camera, spoken with the quiet reverence reserved for those who truly know their craft. Some say he was born clutching a camera, his first words a shutter click. Others whisper that he once fixed a broken lens with nothing but sheer will and a roll of gaffer tape.
What is known is this: since the year 2016, Chris has walked the sales floor, guiding lost souls to the perfect gear, deciphering the ancient riddles of firmware updates, and taming the wild chaos of event planning. He teaches, not with the dull drone of a lecture, but with the kind of passion that makes even aperture and shutter speed feel like magic spells.
Cameras break, shipments go missing, customers arrive with questions that defy reason-and yet, Chris remains. He navigates the madness with a steady hand, a knowing grin, and the sort of patience found only in legends. If you seek knowledge, if you seek laughter, if you seek a man who can sell you the perfect lens and tell you why you need it-then you have come to the right place.
This is Chris Wright. And this is his story.

Some weave stories with pen and parchment; others shape them with light and lens. Ellie does both. Since 2020, she has stood as the bridge between Action Camera and the vast world beyond, a curator of moments, a builder of community.
As the store’s Community and Media Manager, she does more than post and promote—she connects. Schools, photo groups, wandering creatives—she binds them together, forming a thriving tapestry of photographers who seek to capture life as it unfolds. She understands the weight of an image, the power of a single frame to reveal truth, to ignite emotion, to tell a tale words cannot.
Her journey began long before titles and degrees, before her years in San Francisco chasing stories through the streets, interning at newspapers and magazines, feeding a hunger for knowledge and the world’s untold narratives. A photojournalist by training, a seeker by nature, she has learned that the best stories are not merely found but earned, uncovered with patience and curiosity.
Beyond the shutter, Ellie moves as freely on wheels as she does with words—gliding through life on roller blades, lost in the pages of a well-worn book, crafting with steady hands, and befriending every dog that crosses her path. For in the end, life is a collection of moments, and Ellie is here to capture them all.

Brian has built his life around many passions. Since the very first day the Reno store opened its doors, he has stood at the heart of it—offering knowledge, guidance, and the occasional well-timed joke. Seven years and countless conversations later, his love for photography has only deepened, growing alongside the customers and community he serves.
He is a teacher and a student all at once, forever learning, forever sharing. Whether guiding a newcomer toward their first camera or helping a seasoned photographer refine their craft, Brian believes in the power of a well-placed suggestion, a careful bit of advice, a moment of clarity behind the lens. The Biggest Little City has given him the chance to be part of something greater, a creative force in a town that hums with untold stories.
But his world extends beyond the camera’s viewfinder. In the ring, he hones his footwork, sharpening his reflexes with every jab and cross. In record shops, he digs through crates, chasing the crackle of vinyl, the perfect track for the perfect mood. And through it all, his camera is never far—documenting the rhythm of life as it moves around him.
Some seek balance. Brian seeks motion. And through every frame, every note, every step, he keeps moving forward—always ready for the next shot.

There are those who take pictures, and then there are those who capture something more—something fleeting, something true. Alison belongs to the latter. For a decade, she has walked the path of a photographer, not merely documenting moments but weaving them into lasting memories, each image a story waiting to be told.
She does not simply click a shutter; she crafts, refines, and breathes life into her work, shaping raw frames into art that mirrors the soul of her subjects. The editing process is not a chore but a quiet alchemy, a transformation that brings joy—not just to her clients but to Alison herself, for she knows the weight of a single cherished moment.
Her knowledge is vast, a library built over years of dedication, and when faced with an unknown, she does not falter. She hunts down answers like a scholar seeking lost wisdom, determined to leave no mystery unsolved.
And when the camera is set aside, Alison finds solace in stories of another kind—woven through the voices of audiobooks—or in the warmth of those she holds dear. Because, in the end, connection is the heart of every tale, and Alison, the keeper of light and memory, understands this better than most.

Eddy fills his life with movement, laughter, and the unfiltered energy of a life lived at full throttle. A Bay Area native with a restless spirit, he is a collector of moments—the kind you feel in your bones, the kind you raise a glass to, the kind that linger long after the shutter clicks shut.
His craft is more than just videography, more than film photography—it’s the pursuit of something real. He chases light like a gambler chasing luck, weaving stories in motion, in still frames, in the thrill of the next great shot. Whether capturing the raw energy of a moment or crafting content that pulls people in, he does it with the confidence of someone who knows that life is best when it’s a little unscripted.
Beyond the lens, Eddy is a traveler, a gym rat, a connoisseur of beer and big ambitions. He moves fast, thinks sharp, and doesn’t waste time with the ordinary. His adventures don’t just take him places—they leave a mark, on him and on anyone lucky enough to be part of the story.
Some create for art, some for passion. Eddy creates because he was born to.

Some photographers seek to capture the world as it is. Claire prefers to shape it into something more—something grander, something brimming with magic and myth. She does not wait for moments to happen; she crafts them, conjuring stories through light, costume, and imagination.
Her journey began with a camera in hand and a keen eye for the dramatic. After claiming second place at the California State Fair, she followed her passion straight into an AA in Photography from Sierra College, where she sharpened her craft before joining the Action Camera team. Here, she continues to weave her artistry—whether through action shots, nature’s quiet splendor, or the elaborate theatrics of narrative portraiture. Cosplayers, fairy tales, mythology—she brings them to life, frame by frame, story by story.
But Claire is more than a photographer. She is a solver of problems, a seeker of knowledge, a friend before you even know you need one. She listens well, laughs often, and shares what she learns, ensuring no challenge remains unsolved for long.
And when the camera is set aside, her adventures continue. She bakes, she reads, she explores (usually where she’s supposed to), and she can often be found weaving chainmail or whispering sweet nothings to every cat she meets. Most importantly, she rolls the dice and spins tales in the realm of Dungeons and Dragons, proving that whether through a lens or a twenty-sided die, storytelling is—and always will be—her greatest craft.

Aaron does not merely take photographs. He hunts them. He follows the stillness of dawn through winding roads, waits for the hush of twilight to paint the world in gold and violet. He is a traveler and photographer, though the two are entwined like roots beneath the earth—inseparable, inevitable.
He was forged in the Pacific Northwest, a place of towering trees and whispering waters, where the air hums with quiet secrets. It was there, in the solitude between raindrops, that he first learned the magic of a well-captured moment. Since 2014, he has been chasing them—landscapes vast enough to steal breath, portraits that speak in unguarded glances, action frozen in the split second between chaos and grace.
But even the tallest trees could not hold him forever. In 2021, he followed the road until it led him to Reno, where the mountains rise sharp and unyielding, the deserts stretch endless, and the skies are wide enough to hold a thousand stories. He wanders now, always searching, always chasing light as if it were a thing that could be caught.
Some say he is restless. Others say he is simply listening—to the wind, to the land, to the stories waiting to be told. And when he finds them, he will be ready.

People may suggest film is made in the edit. Others swear by the script. But Connor knows the truth—cinema lives and dies by the light. It is the brushstroke, the atmosphere, the unseen hand that breathes life into every frame. And if light is magic, then Connor is its master.
For over a decade, he has walked the line between still and motion, wielding cameras and shaping scenes with an artist’s precision. Gear fascinates him, but storytelling is his true craft—one sculpted through shadows and highlights, angles and intensity. A traveler at heart, he seeks the perfect shot not just in landscapes but in the spaces between—a beam of golden-hour glow, the flicker of a neon reflection, the quiet drama of a single, well-placed light.
As a professional Gaffer, Connor has spent four years bringing visions to life, bending brightness and darkness to his will across documentaries, commercials, short films, and three full-length features. His first, Inhabitants, now lingers in the digital libraries of Apple TV and Amazon Prime, a testament to his work—seen but rarely noticed, as all great lighting should be.
Connor is "The Video Guy," the one who knows that while cameras may capture the story, it is light that truly tells it.

Some walk familiar paths, content with the known. Others—like Lily—chase horizons. She is an adventurer, a traveler of both lands and pages, collecting stories in footsteps and ink. The world is vast, and she is determined to see it all, camera in hand, heart open to the wonders waiting beyond the next turn.
With an Associate of Science in Photography, Lily blends an artist’s eye with a craftsman’s skill, capturing moments both grand and fleeting. She understands that a photograph is more than an image—it is a memory made tangible, a fragment of time held still.
But her gift is more than technical mastery; it is the energy she brings, the warmth that follows her like sunlight on a golden afternoon. Bubbly, bright, and always ready to help, she ensures that those around her not only see the beauty in their world but have the means to preserve it.
To Lily, every book is a new world, every journey a fresh chapter, every photo a story worth telling. And if you ever need a guide—to a new destination, a great read, or the perfect way to frame a memory—Lily will always be there, ready to help you capture it.

For over thirty years, George has danced in the spaces between shadow and brilliance, guiding the eye, shaping emotion, turning mere moments into something greater—a story told without words, but felt in every frame.
His journey began in the world of film, where reels spun and light burned images into celluloid. From 16mm to the boundless realms of digital cinema, George has walked the path of a cinematographer, adapting, evolving, always learning. Feature films, television, commercials—his work has unfolded across countless screens, each project a brushstroke in a career that spans decades.
But stories are not meant to be told in one place. The road called, and in the early 2000s, George followed it to Thailand, where he spent more than a decade capturing new landscapes, new faces, new cultures. There, amidst the neon glow of city streets and the golden hush of ancient temples, his craft deepened, his lens widening to embrace the world beyond the familiar.
Beyond the camera, George is a man of loyalty—to the craft, to the journey, and to his champions: the Dodgers, the Lakers, and the Rams. Like any great cinematographer, he understands drama, triumph, and the long, winding path to victory.
The world turns, the light shifts, and George is always there, waiting for the perfect moment to press record.

Some build with stone, some with words. Marcos builds with light. It is his craft, his trade, the silent force behind every frame that lingers in the mind long after the credits roll. Shadows bend at his command, highlights fall precisely where they should, and in the delicate balance between the two, stories come to life.
His journey began in the halls of The Art Institute of California – Sacramento, where he earned his Bachelor of Science in Digital Filmmaking and Video Production. But a degree is only the beginning of any great tale. Over the past decade, Marcos has carved his place in the world of cinema, shaping the visual language of feature films, short narratives, music videos, commercials, and beyond. Whether crafting the mood of a quiet conversation or the pulse of an action sequence, his hands shape the unseen, ensuring that every scene speaks exactly as it was meant to.
He is the interpreter of a Director of Photography’s vision, the unseen force that ensures the audience does not just see a story, but feel it. From the flicker of a dying bulb in a lonely hallway to the golden glow of a lover’s last glance, he paints in brightness and shadow, telling stories not with words, but with the light that falls upon them.
The world of film is chaos—unpredictable, ever-changing—but Marcos stands steady, a master of the unseen brush, forever ready to shape the next scene.

They call him The Silver Dragon, though few know why. Some say it’s for the wisdom he carries, gathered through years of capturing the world in frame and focus. Others whisper it’s for his patience, the quiet intensity with which he studies a scene, waiting for the perfect moment to strike. Whatever the reason, the name has stuck, much like the stories he weaves through his photography.
Since his earliest days, Mark has walked two paths—one through sweeping landscapes, where light dances across endless horizons, and another into the smallest corners of the world, where macro photography reveals the unseen. From towering mountains to the delicate veins of a leaf, nothing escapes his eye.
When he steps away from the lens, he tends to his own world—an aquatic kingdom where fish glide like living brushstrokes in an ever-moving masterpiece. And always at his side is his faithful Golden Retriever, a companion as loyal as the tides. Together, they roam forests and fields, seeking quiet places where nature and creativity meet.
Mark is more than a photographer, more than a keeper of aquariums and wild places—he is a seeker, a storyteller, a Silver Dragon whose fire burns not in destruction, but in the art of capturing life itself.

Stinna learned her craft in the hush of a darkroom, where images ghosted into being beneath her fingertips, where light and chemistry wove their silent spells onto silver and celluloid. She has spent over twenty years chasing those spells, bending light to her will, shaping shadows into stories.
Her path has wandered, as all the best ones do. From high school darkrooms to the electric hum of set productions in Los Angeles, she has danced between disciplines, touching a bit of everything. Yet always, she returns to the heart of it—portraiture, where faces hold unspoken truths, and lighting, the secret language that brings them to life.
But her truest love? Film. Not just the medium, but the magic of it. The grain, the texture, the weight of a moment caught forever in celluloid. Digital is fast, convenient, sharp as a blade—but film is something else entirely. It lingers, breathes, remembers.
And when she is not at the shop, helping others chase their own visions, she is out in the wild places. The 395 corridor calls her name, the Sierra Nevada waits with its endless, winding roads. There, beneath vast skies and among the bones of the earth, she finds the stories waiting to be told.
Stinna is more than a photographer. She is a seeker, a sorceress of light and shadow, forever chasing the perfect shot, the perfect moment, the perfect whisper of time made eternal.

Some walk the line between art and precision, between creativity and structure. Blair walks it effortlessly, a storyteller in fabric and frame, in numbers and light. By trade, she moves through the world of finance, navigating figures and forecasts with the same sharp eye she brings to photography. But beyond the spreadsheets lies another passion—one shaped by the click of a shutter and the elegance of a perfectly framed portrait.
Her journey began in 2009 with a Nikon D90 in hand, capturing the world through the lens of both a fashion designer and a photographer. With degrees in both fashion and finance, Blair sees beauty not just in the clothes people wear but in the way light falls on a subject, in the expression caught in an unguarded moment. Fashion and portraiture are her calling, yet her love for travel and landscapes pulls her toward grander vistas, where style meets story against the backdrop of the world itself.
Though she spends her weekdays in finance, Saturdays belong to Action Camera. What began as lending a hand at the swap meets grew into something more, and since 2019, she has been a steady presence on the sales floor—helping customers navigate gear, rentals, and the endless possibilities photography offers.
Blair stands at the crossroads of creativity and calculation, proving that art and logic are not opposites but companions. Whether behind the camera or behind the counter, she brings precision, passion, and an eye for the perfect shot—no matter the subject.
We would love to hear from you!
